SONG LINE UP SUGGESTIONS • 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A)

Readings

1R: Leviticus 19:1-18.
1. “You must be holy for I the Lord your God am holy.”
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

RP:103 “The Lord is kind and merciful.”

2R: In 1 Corinthians 3:16-23, Paul writes:
1. You are God’s home (God’s temple). The spirit of God dwells in you. The temple of God, which you are, is holy.
2. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to the eyes of God. He catches the wise in their own ruses. The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, and they are vain.
3. All are Yours, Lord.

G: In Matthew 5:38-48, the evangelist narrates Jesus’ words:
1. Love your enemies. About retaliation: When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other to him as well.
2. Pray for those who persecute you, that you may be “children of your heavenly Father.”
2. You must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

The Gospel perfects 1R.
